Our seedlings are grown from seeds collected in our elite conservation orchard, sourced from some of the finest American chestnut mother trees in the country. Many are over 30 years old and have survived deliberate inoculations with three strains of chestnut blight. Like wild American chestnuts, these seedlings remain blight-susceptible.
